In response to the idiots remarks to station 25s website: You need to get your information right. I did not give the chief the pictures of people at the hospital with their t shirts on, but in hind sight if I am going to get blamed for next time I will do it. Remember eyes are always watcing you, or should I say cell phones.
fred I know it hasn,t been long since the last message .but thinking of you has started a fire that,s out of control, and i NEED you to estinguish it.xoxoxoxox
FRED If you think the fires down there are hot wait till oct. when i,m in tx. then tell me which is hotter!!!
Mo, glad to see your using your degrees so well.
Who Video Tapes while ya'll are fighting? -HFD/E68
Comment from the webmaster - The majority of our incidents have an abundance of personnel arrive. Many times there is someone who is carrying either a disposable camera or a digital camera. If you notice, most of the videos are taken from one place throughout the incident. That's due to the 'cameraman' quickly placing the camera in service and setting it down in a safe spot. That's also why alot of times the best angle isn't obtained. It is a combined effort however, because video taping and picture taking is the last priority at any incident. - Tim Dunn 46C
Hey Tony T Trinidad your the best. Thanks for letting me go Trauma Patroling with you in South Union and for giving me your last pair of Pink Trauma Shears. You are the #1 Trauma Medic

Sorry to here about another loss of a brother firefighter an old 46C shifter. Tony was a great loss to everyone and will always be loved. God Bless.
Engine 1, Moody Street Station Group 3 Nice site! Sorry for your loss. We lost a brother, Bobby Felt (33yrs old), this past summer. Our condolenses to your department and family and friends. Chuck
Tony was a good worker, a great fireman and a much loved brother. His imitations were right on the money, and he had to be one of the top funny men in HFD. I will miss him terribly and regret that I will not have the opportunity to work with him again.
I grew up in the same neighborhood with Tony and his two younger brothers, Robert and Ruben. I have known the Villa Family since 1985. I used to go to their house every weekend and play. My sister was the same age as Tony and she is the one who called me to tell me what happened. Tony was a role modle of mine when I was a little kid. He was always smiling and always asking if I was doing okay and if my parents were doing okay. I am so sorry that we lost a very good person. If there is anything I can do for his family, please let me know. Sam Helm

To my extended family - 46B - I simply wanted to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for being so supportive with each other during our loss. I am so proud how you have come together; you all make one hell of a team. I look forward to sharing many more memories with everyone and I have learned to always have my camera handy! I can't wait to transfer the pictures off my digital from the funeral and Cadillac's. I took many, many pictures and they each have so much meaning behind them. Just remember that tomorrow is a new day and some people come into our lives and leave quickly, others stay for awhile and leave footprints in our hearts.. and we are never, ever the same. I strongly believe you all will keep the footprints going inside each of your hearts.
I would like to thank all of you at District 46's to allow myself and brother firefighters, that had worked with Grady in Texas City FD,to walk amongst you in the funeral procession. It was an honor. The service was a beautiful, fitting tribute to Capt. Burke. A job well done to all that contributed.God bless to all. Fraternally yours, Chad M.Smith
I am truely sorry to have lost such a great person and firefighter like Capt. Grady Burke. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. To my brothers at 46's, especially B-shift, sorry for the huge loss that you all have encountered. To the Burke family, you will all be in my family's thoughts and prayers. To Capt. Burke.....thank you for showing me your light.
members of station 46, i want to thank you for allowing me to walk along side of you in the ceremony yesterday that truely honored capt grady burke. the ceremony was the most impressive and personal tribute i have ever attended....those responsible for the arrangements did a fine job in such hard times. i first met grady when he entered the fire academy at college of the mainland and then got the chance to work with him when he was hired by texas city fire department and was placed on the A-shift central for several years. during that time grady proved time and time again that he was a person that could be counted on during any response type. grady had a love for this job that was honest. when he left us after about three year to work with hfd we all knew he would advance and become an assest to your department. grady was very proud to say when ever he got the chance that he was a member of station 46 followed by that smile. i have many friends in hfd and as tragic as this is you must continue to do what you all do so well. dont second guess your work ethics....you are good at what you do because of the way you do things and the drive/bond that each of you have.....grady...thanks for the memories ken beach tcfdbeach@msn.com

I am always amazed at how firefighters walk into fires, while the rest of us run from them. They are the most unselfish, courageous people – to risk their own life for someone else’s! I do not personally know Captain Burke but feel like I do after talking to Chris. I know that he was a wonderful man, husband, father, fireman and friend. He was someone that would do anything for anyone. He not only impacted my brother’s life but many others. My sympathy pours out to Captain Burke’s family! “The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example.” – Benjamin Disraeli

The crew of San Antonio Fire Station#46 send our heartfelt condolences on the loss of Brother Burke. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Brother Burke's family in this difficult time.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Capt. Burke and all of his brother firefighters at the Houston Fire Department. Listening to the scanner while on duty Friday night, we were amazed on the number of fires District 46 was running on that night. It got to the point where we would shout out "it's 46 again". The last calls I remember hearing before going to sleep at about 04:00 was Engine 46 going on an EMS call and Ladder 46 going to one shortly after. I was woken up a few minutes before 07:00 with the news that Station 46 lost someone. Hearing them go to all those fires that night and waking up hearing that they lost someone was truly a shock. At the time I did not know that Capt. Burke just came on for his shift. I apologize that I will not be able to attend the Memorial Service on Wednesday. I will be taking the day off work to cover my district to let the Houston Firefighters on our day crew attend the service. Once again from myself and all the members of Station 2, our deepest sympathy goes out to Capt. Burke's family and the Houston Fire Department. E/O J. Mitchell Community FD

Blessings to you all at this time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In Memory of Captain Grady Don Burke You didn't know this morning what the day would bring, Never thought today would be the day you'd hear the angels sing. Sing they will for a life well lived, Lived and died doing what you did best - give. A raging fire took you to heavens door, On this earth you will walk no more. But live on you will in the hearts of others, Especially all of your firefighter sisters and brothers. This special family of yours, they never forget, Your name in their hearts is now set. Mr. Dunn, and Mr.Scott we made it, class 32, we graduated on fri. Jan 28.2005. Regretfully, they sent us to paramedic school. In our class was CANTU,HASSINGER,MALLIC,LEON,LUSK,VARRELA,AND GERTH, hOPE TO SEE YALL OUT THERE.
Wow! when I saw the officers on the C-Shift I started to have flashbacks.I came in under Jenkins at 25's. and we made many fires with Zepeda @ 7's and Hooker @ 18's. Those 3 treated every fire as if their family was in it."They scared me out of the fire service". NOW that I have a family, I can only hope that the Fire fighters that serve my area, are as dedicated and crazy as those three!!
I work at station 34 on the c shift.Great web site
